We got married over the May long weekend in Hudson, Quebec, and we had an incredible experience thanks to Soul Station Orchestra! We originally chose to go with Soul Station because the vocals and sound were better than anything else we could find in the Ottawa/Montreal area and they did not disappoint from start to finish. After speaking with Daniel, we decided to go with a 7 piece band, which also included a DJ and sound technician. This turned out to be a good choice since the room where our reception took place wasn't huge. For a bigger sound (and a bigger room), you can also have a horn section. A few months later, we also decided to hire the string trio for our church ceremony, with separate musicians. Daniel was very accommodating and helped us in setting the right tone for our multi-generational guest list. He also helped us go over our timeline and decide what time the band would start playing for the evening. We were happy to have input on what songs would be played, and the band and DJ did an amazing job at getting everyone on the dance floor! Overall, it was a great mix of top 40 hits and old school classics from the band, and the DJ did a great job of playing a good selection of favourites over dinner and after the band finished in the early hours of the morning. Overall, the band played for about 3.5 hours, with one small break in the middle. Since our wedding, we have had so many compliments about the string trio in the church, as well as the band and the DJ at the reception. We really appreciated how professional and put together the band and trio looked for our big day and they definitely know how to work a crowd. Overall, we would highly recommend Soul Station Orchestra for any event that you are considering if you want a good party atmosphere for all ages. Thanks Daniel to you and your team!

Highly, highly recommend this amazing group of musicians. Incredibly professional, incredibly talented and most importantly, it is so clear that they LOVE what they do. Dan was so attentive and easy to reach whenever we had a question and clearly takes great pride in making sure the work he does is well polished. We absolutely love music and we wanted music to be front and centre at our wedding. The SoulStation group knocked it out of the park. They did an amazing job helping us integrate music into a very special ceremony with their string trio and added depth to our words. Their lounge band had people dancing at our cocktail and had my husband and I smiling because of the wonderful, warm atmosphere they created. Beautiful singer. As a bride living in the U.S. and planning a destination wedding in Montreal, I relied very heavily on social media when scouting my vendors. When I first saw a video of Soul Station Orchestra posted on Instagram, I was instantly drawn to the group’s aesthetic, but I was cautious – could I really count on performance and professionalism based solely on a 30 second clip? However, after meeting with Daniel (the group’s manager) during a trip to Montreal in November, I was immediately assured that he would do what it took to make sure we had the caliber of reception I’d always envisioned. We went through all our timing, entrances, special requests, “absolute-do-not-play” songs, and other details. Daniel was attentive and quick to respond to my many emails in the days leading up to the wedding. And – as for the actual event – they blew it out of the water. We had the string trio play on the rooftop bar during our cocktail hour (under a rainbow, as luck would have it!), followed by the full band and DJ at the reception. They handled all the introductions/announcements gracefully, and really helped to ensure that everything went smoothly for the toasts and speeches. Daniel even went so far as to ensure that the band learned our first dance – Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable”- because it was so important to me that it be played live. Additionally, because we had quite a diverse group of guests (all ages, nationalities, ethnicities, etc.) we didn’t want the music to focus too heavily on any one era/genre. They nailed it with their compilations, transitioning from one song to another while keeping the momentum and energy going. In that magical moment of the first “open” dance song, I looked around the dance floor and felt my heart leap: almost every. single. guest. was rushing to the center of the room, spilling over the dance floor to boogie the night away. Two months later, I am still getting comments from my guests about how great (and versatile!) our band was! My wife and I hired the string trio to play at our wedding and they were exceptional. The songs they played were a real treat to listened to and lended the perfect ambiance to our wedding ceremony and the cocktail afterwards. What was very impressive was the way that even when our celebrant mixed up the order of the ceremony, the trio adapted to the changes with ease and played at exactly when required. What can we say about Soul Station Orchestra!! They were our favourite part of our night! So many of our guests couldn't stop talking about them as well -- even days and weeks after the wedding! They were wonderful to work with as well and were super helpful in the planning process. We booked their 10 person package with the full horn section and we were not disappointed! They are absolutely amazing live and sound just like their videos. They had the dance floor full and definitely brought the energy to the evening. We were so impressed with their music, singing, their stage presence, and the fun they were all having on stage. You can tell these musicians all love performing and they were just incredible to watch and dance to! They also performed our first dance song live which was just so special! Soulstation Orchestra was one of the best decisions my husband and I made in preparation for the wedding.
